Following in the part-time horologist footsteps of legendary Colombian racer Juan Pablo Montoya, Brazilian ex-F1 driver Barichello has worked with custom Rolex specialists Artisans de Geneve on a unique limited edition of the Daytona: La Barichello. With a staggering 322 starts under his belt, 11 of which resulted in victory, Rubens Barrichello is the most experienced Formula 1 driver of all time. Now the benign Brazilian has joined forces with Artisans de Genève to modify a Rolex Daytona in order to reflect his enduring motorsport career. Last year they worked on the world’s first skeleton dial Rolex Daytona, and for this year, the Geneva-based master craftsmen have collaborated with Rubens Barrichello to customize his Rolex Daytona, by adding the mechanical style of racing cars to the watch. Artisans de Genève would have never imagined the challenge that awaited them when Rubens Barrichello came with the project to revisit his Rolex Daytona.
