Having reviewed the whole of the 'Jardin' series of Hermès fragrances yesterday (which, unfortunately, is still awaiting release by the admins, I believe), I thought I'd tackle the company's newest male release, H24. H24 is the first perfume expressing the contemporary man as seen by HERMES. So what's the vibe, really? Well. it smells a bit like some vaguely-nice-smelling chemical you would find in a laboratory.
My review here is based on a sample I acquired I think from Reddit here a while back. I do, however, find H24 really clever and unique composition-wise! Particularly for something meant to sit on a shelf in a department store.
The EDT is fresh and I love the metallic cleanness, but that aspect fades and there isn't much of anything underneath to support the composition. Would love a green masculine vibe, but you get a very faint banana yellow thing that is a mere skin scent.
I actually liked the H24 EDT but found it was pretty easy to overspray, at which point it gets overwhelming. It's a strange fragrance, but I really enjoy the opening pear note. Accidently sprayed it on my hand in sephora, couldnt smell it an hour later. H24 in its long-lasting base smells more "traditional," warmer, richer, masculine in character. I like H24 but it's not to my tastes; it smells like a rich herbal cologne/fougère (with sage replacing the lavender). H24's lasting power is excellent and it has good sillage.
